On January 5, 2009 25 children of Nick's Kids Fund Charities were invited by Academy Sports & Outdoors to an Alabama shopping spree. Children from the United Way, the Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama, Eagle's Wings, First Tee, and The Arc of Tuscaloosa were invited and received a $50 shopping spree to purchase University of Alabama merchandise. Brian Johnson, Regional Marketing Director of Academy Sports & Outdoors felt it was a great way to give back to the community while supporting the Crimson Tide. Since joining the University of Alabama Nick and Terry Saban's Nick's Kids Fund has donated over $1,000,000 to more than 150 local and statewide charities. The Nick's Kids Fund would like to give special thanks to Academy Sports & Outdoors for their generosity in making this a very memorable day for some special and deserving Tide fans. |
